I am so excited to listen to this version of the Bible.. is there a reading of the available without the background music in the chapters?
ReplyDeleteI apologize for not seeing this sooner. If you send me your e-mail address I will get it to you.
DeleteMy plan is to build a website where I can post the audio in various kinds of ways: with and without music. With and without challenge podcasts and commentary, etc... I've been under a grueling spiritual warfare attack for a while now. I can see I have to build it all myself. The podcast services have unique irritating limitations that limit diskspace. etc...
I love this! Thank you so much for creating it for us. I was very eager to have an audiobook Version of the Septuagint that I could listen to. I plan to try to work myself through the entire thing.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a little difficult to navigate. Every time I pause it loses my place meaning that I have to carefully remember which chapter I’m on, and then it takes me back to your intro so I have to scroll to wherever I left off. It also does not auto play the next chapter so it constantly pauses causing me to come back to my phone find where I left off and click on the next chapter.
In spite of that, it’s worth It! I genuinely thank you for this labor of love which must’ve taken a lot of work. My fix is to keep a note on what chapter verse I last listened to so I can find it again when I come back. ;)
Once again, thank you!
Hey thanks for your positivity! And I apologize I didn't see this response, sooner. I have been under a grueling spiritual warfare attack. You can e-mail me at tombradford6@icloud.com (for faster replies).
DeleteSeeing positivity and interest and engagement helps. I have been building a personal hosting website to solve the kinds of problems you note (and more). The inexpensive services lack good forms of control (which also irritates me). And the good stuff is ridiculous expensive. If you send me an e-mail, I can probably figure something out and write some helpful instructions.
Oh, I see. I just tried what you explained. Yeah there is another way: At almost the very top of the screen is a pull down. If you hit that, you can pick a book like Exodus. Then scroll down and find the chapter and pick that. And then you'll see a player and the text of the chapter. You can play that player and navigate away and come back and it will still be there. And there are buttons above it that let you go to the next chapter. It's still a little clunky, but a much handier bookmark. So it takes a couple steps to get in, and then provided you keep the window open, only a click to play and a click to go to the next chapter. Sadly it won't auto-advance (yet). Hope that helps.
DeleteAlso, I have so far only heard your commentary on Genesis, but I loved it, and I’m very eager to hear the rest of your commentary. It is very very helpful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying that!
DeleteI had some people complain, and that was discouraging and led to me wanting to build my own hosting website so I can post bibles with and without commentary, with and without challenges (so people can choose). It took ~three years to build what you see so far. This new hosting website will be extremely cool and custom, but I get the impression the devil hates the idea, because I came under a whopper of an attack. I'm hoping to bring something online within about a year and then if there's interest I'll start creating content again.
And maybe it’s just me, but unfortunately when I clicked on your recommended links it seems like they didn’t work. Those webpages may have come down, or changed their address-?
ReplyDeleteWhere are you seeing the recommended links to which you are referring? I want to make sure I fix/check the right place.
